BRETBY

$375.00

This Bretby Pottery vase stands 10.25" high by 4.75" in diameter. This classic full-bodied form has a very handsome shape, with a buttressed style rim. The body of the vase has a hammered copper styling, with handsome swirling medallions circling the upper third of the vase. It is beautifully hand-tooled, and makes a very nice Arts & Crafts presentation. This classic English Arts & Crafts vase is marked ‘CLANTA’, Made in England on the base, along with its shape number 2346. Online references say the Bretby Pottery ‘Clanta’ line was started by Henry Tooth, who was a skilled potter and artist. Tooth founded Bretby Art Pottery in 1883, with William Ault, in Woodville, Derbyshire. This distinctive art pottery was produced from 1883 until 1920. After several changes of ownership and styles, the pottery was finally closed. This Bretby Pottery ‘Clanta’ vase is in factory mint condition, with just normal wear from handling. It is quintessential English Arts & Crafts, in design. This very handsome vase would complement any décor or collection. Shipping inc. ins. $20.
