Weller

Sold

For Sale I have a wonderful piece of Art Pottery made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is "Malverne or Malvern" as it is spelled both ways. The Shape is considered a Bud Vase. The Vase measures8 1/4" tall and is 4" in diameter at its widest point. The opening of the Vase is 2" wide inside measurement.

The Vase displays wonderful Raised or Embossed Leaves and a Yellow Bud on a Twig or Branch that swirl from the bottom of the piece up to about the neck. This was done on a Tree Bark textured background. The lower background has a Dark Chocolate Mottled background Glaze that blends into more of a caramel color towards the top. The top rim is accented with the Darker Brown to finish the look. What a nice Organic feel this Vase has!!

The Vase is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The Piece is unsigned but guaranteed to be Weller "Malvern". There is a letter "H" or "I" written in Grease Pencil. This was more than likely the finishers mark.

The piece was made Circa 1927-1933.
