For Sale is a very lovely piece of Art Glass made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The item is a "Trumpet" form flower vase and It is done in Tiffany's highly sought after Blue Favrile Iridescent Glass. The Trumpet Vase has some size to it as it stands 11 7/8" tall and has a diameter of approximately 3" at the top opening. The foot has a diameter of 3 3/8".
The Vase displays a very nice Shape that resembles the center Trumpet of a Daffodil flower. It sits on a round platform or foot with a knuckle that rises up and supports the tall tapered slender Trumpet shape. This is one continuous piece from the round foot to the top opening. This is a 2 part vase as the knuckle and Trumpet shape is fused to the foot or platform. The exterior finish is smooth has an outstanding Blue Iridescence to it. The underside bottom has a rich Peacock Blue Iridescence that is simply Outstanding!! I would considered this to have one of the strongest Peacock Blue Iridescence that I have ever seen in a Tiffany Blue Favrile piece. The Vase looks metallic yet it is glass.
This Trumpet Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There is virtually no wear to the bottom underside foot. The inside of the vase shows minor wear as you can see some calcium deposits when looking in and holding up the vase up to the light. This cannot be seen when displayed and is considered insignificant. The Vase is properly signed in a counter clockwise fashion. It is the etched Script Signature mark which reads "L.C. Tiffany-Inc. Favrile" as well as the number "1510" and the Suffix Number "8973 M" to the right of this. This Suffix letter M means this piece was made in the year 1918. This is one of the finest Authentic Tiffany Signatures that I have ever seen. It is unusual to see 2 sets of numbers and my guess the 1510 number is a shape number or something along that line. The Vase even retains it original small round Tiffany Foil Label that I believe reads "Reg Favrile Glass Trade Mark". I can only see this with the aid of a jewelers loop.
This is a quality piece of Art glass made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The Blue Favrile, Aurene Iridescence is just outstanding!! This is a very nice example of this form and color. It is amazing that this Vase has survived over 93 years without getting any kind of damage. Those of you who collect the Blue Favrile, Aurene Flower Forms will surely welcome this fine addition. I'm sure the lucky Buyer will be quite happy with their purchase.
