For sale is a lovely Bowl in Art Pottery by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is "Silvertone" and it is extremely popular among Weller Pottery Collectors. The shape is a Centerpiece or Console Bowl with its Flower Frog. The Bowl is large as it stands 3" tall and is 12" in diameter at the outside top rim. The bottom has a diameter of 4 3/4". The Flower Frog stands 2 1/4" tall and is 4 1/2" in diameter.

The Console Bowl displays a large deep flaring bowl shape. It has a gorgeous embossed floral design that resembles a Dogwood Tree in full bloom. The colors and details are just outstanding. The Flowers are in full bloom and they are connected with branches that connect each flower to each other along the flared edge. These are nestled into densely populated leaves just beneath them. The colors are superb and are of pastel tones. You can see beautiful Purple's or Lilac, with Pinks, Greens and Browns as well as some yellow accents. You can even see the pistils in the flower center. The flower frog displays these same qualities with only a single flower located on the top side. The back side is smooth and plain and shows a light pastel colored glaze.

The Console Bowl and Flower Frog are considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. They just don't come any better the ink stamp "Weller Ware" mark with a Bulbous Bud Vase neck between Weller and Ware. The flower frog is signed the same way along with the letter "T". This was more than likely the Artist that glazed this Bowl's mark. There is no doubt that this Flower Frog was original to this piece and nut a marriage put together. Those of you who collect this Weller pattern will not find a better example of this form or Glaze. It is extremely clean and it appears that this Console Bowl and Flower Frog was well taken care of through the years.

This Console Bowl and Flower Frog was made Circa 1927. I have the matching candlesticks in a separate Auction.
