For sale is a very lovely piece of art glass made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The item is a "Stemmed Trumpet" vase. The vase is done in Tiffany's hard top find Pastel Yellow Opalescence glass. The vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 7" tall and has a diameter of approximately 3 1/4" at the top opening. The foot has a diameter of 2 7/8".
The vase displays a footed and stemmed Flower Form in the shape of a trumpet. The vase starts out with a transparent round foot that has an applied opalescent stem attached at the base and meet the body in a narrow area. The vase tapers up and put as it gracefully rises up like a flower with its top petals flaring out. The opalescent white fingers blended with the pastel yellow flower tip only gives this form a realistic view. You can feel vertical ribbing on the exterior smooth surface on the body.
This vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips or dings. There are some scratches to the underside bottom and typical normal age use. This inside of the vase has no calcium deposits. The bottom has a small polished and counter sunk pontil. The finishing mark of a quality piece of art glass. The vase is properly signed with the etched script signature mark that reads "1881 L.C.T. Favrile". The number is the shape number in the Tiffany Favrile pastel line. This line was late in the Tiffany Studios production and subsequently this vase was made circa 1920-1928.
