Bradley

$250.00

For sale is one of the hardest of the desk set items to be found and it is made by The Bradley and Hubbard Manufacturing Company of Meriden, Ct. The item is an Rocker Blotter and it is done in the Lily Pad desk set pattern. The patina on the metal is the most desirable mottled green and the stained glass is the green/white opalescent glass. The rocker blotter measures 2 1/2" tall, 5" wide and 2 3/4" deep.

This rocker blotter displays an metal overlay of an art nouveau pattern with a single lily pad at one end. It has a ribbed knob for easy gripping and the patina is in absolutely great condition. The mottled and frothy green patina is about as good as it gets and was a signature trademark of Bradley and Hubbard. They were the only ones that did this type of patina. The subtle opalescent green white glass under the overlay was the most popular of the day.

The rocker blotter is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, or chips to any of the glass. It still retains its original blotter green paper. The piece is not signed but as I stated above, the patina is a signature trademark as being made by Bradley and Hubbard. This is one of the hardest desk set items to find by Bradley and Hubbard. This is an excellent example in condition and form. If you collect rocker blotters or desk set pieces this will be a welcomed addition.
