For sale is a lovely piece of art glass made by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The item is a "Grotesque" vase and it is done in Frederick Carder's clear crystal style of glass. The vase has some size to it as it stands 9 1/4" tall and is 5 1/16" in diameter. The foot has a diameter of 3 11/16".

The vase displays a round foot with a long stem attached. The stem rises up and out forming 4 individual corners. The glass is manipulated between these corners that resemble a handkerchief in shape. This is done against a clear crystal background glass.

The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There are minor scratches on the underside bottom outer edge. This is typical of normal age use.

There is a rough pontil. The vase is signed on the bottom edge in an etched "Steuben" cipher mark. This is known as shape number 7090 in the Steuben catalog of shapes. This is truly an nice example and of investment quality. Those of you whom collect Steuben Grotesque Vases will surely welcome this wonderful vase into your collection. This piece was made circa 1935-1950 post Frederick Carder. I have attached a link to the Steuben Club Website to document this shape below.
