For sale is a lovely art pottery vase made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is called "Iris" and it is done in their highly collected salmon pink with white glazes. The shape is known as a "Jardiniere" and it stands 4 5/8" tall and is 6 3/4" in diameter outside handles measurement. The inside rim is 4 1/4" in diameter.

The jardiniere displays very natural embossed Iris flowers in a white glaze with pale yellow flower centers. The background is a very pleasing pale salmon pink in color. The Iris's are blooming and have embossed medium green colored leaves nestled underneath them. This planter is accented on each side with unique shaped handles that start at the shoulder and attach just under the top rim. There is a narrow area you can see through in each handle. I would call these stepped buttress style handles.

The rose bowl is considered to be in very good to excellent condition as there are no cracks nicks, or chips or major dings. There appears to be a tiny glaze nick on the top inside lip. This is hard to see and I only noticed it because I ran my finger over the top and one small area was a little rough. The jardiniere is signed on the bottom with the incised "Roseville" cipher along with the pattern number "647-4". There is also the number 21 incised and the number 12 written in a deep blue glaze.More than likely the finishers numbers.

This rose bowl was made circa 1939.
