L.C.T.

$350.00

For sale is a lovely gold iridescent salt made by Tiffany Studios, New York. This style of a Tiffany salt was one of the most popular in its day. The salt stands 1 1/4" tall and is 2 1/4" in diameter.

The salt has a strong deep bronze gold iridescence with deep fuchsia highlights. The top lip shows a nice deep bronze gold against a gold iridescence background. The salt has little prunts that resemble a pigs tail and thus the "Pigtail Prunt" salt. The proper name Tiffany Studios assigned this line is known as "Victoria". I have attached black and white pictures from an early Tiffany catalog to show this.

The salt is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There is minimal wear along the underside bottom. Looking inside you can see where some of the fuming missed the inside walls similar to a glaze miss. The salt is signed on the bottom with an etched " L.C.T." for "Louis Comfort Tiffany". Those of you who collect salts and want a nice example in excellent condition, look no further. This salt will enhance any art glass salt collection. This salt was made circa 1900-1920.
