For sale is a wonderfully executed hand blown Art Glass Vase or Jar with lid made by Phoenix Art Glass. The jar is done in the Art Nouveau Style of Decorated Gold Iridescent. The Jar is quite impressive as it stands 11 1/2" tall to the top of the lid and is 6 1/2" in diameter at the shoulder. The foot has a diameter of 3 1/2". There is an opening of 2" inside measurement on the top of this Jar under the lid.
This Jar depicts beautiful Cherry Blossom Tree in full bloom with cascading white blossoms on a bold red tree. This is set against a Gold Favrile, Aurene Iridescent background. The Cherry Blossoms are in clusters and resemble Wisteria flowers drooping from their branches from its massive blooms. When held to the light you can see a green bottom to simulate grass. The background leading up to the Cherry Blossoms is a Gold Aurene, Favrile Iridescence. The top of the Vase has red branches running throughout the top portion underneath and in between the Cherry Blossoms. The top lid has a male extension that fits nicely into the Jar. Even the top lid has these Cherry Blossom Flowers in full bloom. There is no doubt this vase was blown by a an expert Glass Blower. This vase has the same quality level as its predecessors L.C. Tiffany Favrile, Quezal, Durand and Steuben.
This Vase is in excellent condition as there are absolutely no issue to report. It bears the Phoenix Studios, Carl Radke Foil Label as well as "Phoenix" etched along the bottom side. This is a quality piece of American Art glass and I'm sure even the collector of the early manufacturers will not be disappointed with their purchase.
