For sale is a piece of early American art glass that was made by New England Glass Works of Cambridge, Massachusetts. It is a Peach Blow Celery vase which was a popular shape of tableware back in the Victorian era. This was originally call "Wild Rose" It measures approximately 6 3/8" tall and is 4 1/8" in diameter at the diagonal corners of the rim. The base measures 3 5/8" in diameter.

The vase has a beautiful salmon pink that graduates to a lighter hue of pink at the base. The interior of the vase is even more dramatic and displays as a dark dusty rose. The bottom of this special vase actually has Agata characteristics in the bottom pontil area. This means this piece was blown immediately after a previous run of Agata was completed. There were still remnants of that formula left on the punty rod when this particular beauty was blown and was transferred only to the bottom of this vase. The piece is just lovely and could also be used as a florist vase. The vase is a tapered form with a slightly narrowed waist and is finished with a square rim scalloped edge.

The vase is in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks or dings. The piece is unsigned however it is guaranteed to be original. It has a nice ground polished pontil which is the sign of a quality piece of art glass. Peach Blow was only made for a few years at the New England Glass Company. This vase was made circa 1886-1888.
