For sale is very beautiful piece of art glass made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The item is a "Lily Pad" decorated vase. It is done in Tiffany's highly sought after Blue Favrile iridescent style of art glass. This vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 5 1/2" tall and has a diameter of 7" at the shoulder. The top opening is 3 3/8" inside diameter.

The vase depicts a very pleasing tapered shoulder form shape with a small raised circular lip. The vase is decorated with a beautiful Lily Pad pattern that circles the vase. There is a concentration of these trailing lily pads along the shoulder with a trailing vine of Lily pads reaching the bottom of the vessel at an angle. The colors are vivid and well detailed. The Lily pads are done in a green to white Favrile with the pads being outlined in a deep blue black decoration. There are no 2 lily pads the same shape or color. There is also vertical ribbing in the vase when held to the light. There are a total of 10 of these ribs. This is all set against a grainy blue Favrile background glass.

This vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips or dings. There is some minor calcium deposits inside the vase but nothing to obtrusive. This clearly shows this vase was used at it was intended to be. Also this can only be see when held to a light and looking inside it. Truly an excellent example of this form and color. The vase is properly signed with the counter clockwise etched script signature mark that reads "9053 L L.C. Tiffany-Favrile". We can date this vase based on the suffix letter "L". This vase was made circa 1917.

This is a quality piece of art glass made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The Blue Favrile, Aurene iridescence and form was executed by a master and is just outstanding!! The iridescence rivals Steuben's Blue Aurene!! I'm quite sure the buyer will be delighted with their purchase.
