For sale is a lovely art glass vase made by Loetz Klostermuehle of Bohemia which is now the modern day Czech Republic. The pattern is called "Mimosa Candia" and the form is vase. The vase has some size as it stands 6 3/4" tall and has a diameter of 5 3/4" at the shoulder. The bottom or base of the vase has a diameter of 3". The top area measures 3 1/2".

The vase displays a swollen shoulder form that sits on its round molded foot. This foot is part of the vase and not applied. The vase swells at the shoulder and has a flaring round top lip. The vase has an outstanding crackle gold iridescence on a clear background glass. The crackles are tightly packed next to each other in an all over fashion. The iridescence is just superb as you can see vivid golds, and some fuchsia throughout the vessel.

The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There are a few inclusions (carbon) spots and marks within the glass. Typical of early 20th century glass. The bottom has a counter sunk polished pontil. This is the finishing sign of a quality piece of art glass. This vase is unsigned as is typical of most Loetz vases. It more than likely had a paper label at one time. There is no doubt that this is a Loetz vase as this pattern technique is well documented. The vase is very clean outside and in and it shows minimal signs of use.

This is the nicest Mimosa in Candia or Gold that I have ever owned. It is actually the most brilliant iridescent Loetz piece I have ever owned as well. Not a commonly found decor here in the North East in a very popular shape. I'm quite sure the buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. This vase was made circa 1899-1905 and is considered the early years for Loetz.
