For sale is a vintage French Tambour Embroidered coin purse and women's billfold wallet. The coin purse doubles as a billfold wallet also. The coin purse measures 4" wide and approximately 3 3/4" deep with a bulge 5 3/4' at the bulge of the sides. The coin purse has a fold over flap that opens to a zippered billfold. The measurements of this are 7 1/2" long by approximately 4 1/2" deep.

The purse depicts an all over flower pattern that is tambour embroidered in colors of salmon and ivory blossoms. There are sage green leaves and coppery gold buds and accents that are just beautiful. The entire pattern is outlined with white glass seed beads and all of this is set on a silk ivory ground. This pattern is on both sides of the coin purse with the flap snapped shut. It has a kiss clasp in gold tone that is in fine working condition.

The billfold area is plain ivory colored silk except for the squiggly beaded border that carries on to the edge when snapped shut. The zipper is a silver toned enclosure for bills with a chain for opening and closing. There are no tags or labels on this delightful coin purse however guaranteed vintage. It has a wonderful spring type appeal for Easter, weddings and other special fashion accents.

The purse is in excellent condition as there is no damage or bead loss that I see. This purse was made Circa 1950's.
