For sale is a very lovely art glass vase made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The item is called a "Floriform" or flower form vase. The vase is done in Tiffany's most sought after Gold Favrile iridescent glass. The vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 9 1/8" tall and has a diameter of approximately 3" at the swollen neck near the top opening. The foot has a diameter of 3 5/8".This vase displays a stemmed and round footed form with the body being blown in the shape of a flower. The vase has a gold iridescent foot with an applied stem attached at the base and rising up to a knuckle just below the body. The vase tapers up and out from this knuckle forming an elongated pod with the top of the flower poking above the edges, similar to the trumpet of a Daffodil. The top edge of the vase is irregular with 10 ruffles. There are vertical ribs in the body and round foot. The count of 10 matches up with the top flower border. The Gold Favrile Aurene iridescent is just outstanding as you can see. There is lots of fuchsia and platinum blues on top of a gold iridescent finish. You can feel vertical ribbing on the exterior smooth surface on the body.
This vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips or dings. There is really no excuses for this vase as it is very clean and well cared for past 105 years. This inside of the vase has no calcium deposits. The vase is properly signed with the etched script signature mark that reads "1300 G L.C. Tiffany-Favrile". The number is the shape number in the Tiffany Favrile shape line. You can date this Floriform by the suffix letter "G". This vase was made circa 1912.
