For sale is a lovely blue iridescent salt made by Tiffany Studios, New York. This style of a Tiffany salt is known as the ruffled salt. I have only seen a handful of these in blue through the years. The salt stands 1 1/16" tall and is 2 5/8" in diameter. The bottom has a diameter of 1 7/8".

There are 8 individual ruffles. The Blue Favrile Aurene luster or iridescent is just wonderful!!! You can see beautiful peacock blue purple, fuchsia and gold colored hues. The inside and underside bottom show this brilliant blue the best. When you look at the salt at certain angles it appears to have a Platinum Finish because of the strong reflective qualities of the iridescence. The salt comes with a bonus. It has a sterling silver salt spoon made by Gorham silver of Providence, Rhode Island.

This Tiffany Blue Favrile salt is in mint Condition as I cannot find anything wrong with it. There isn't even scratches or Iridescence loss to the piece. It appears to have never been used and only sat in a cabinet. The salt is signed with the etched "L.C.T." along the bottom edge. The spoon is monogrammed with the letter "F" and it carries the impressed pattern mark "H 205" along with the Gorham marks of an Impressed Lion, Anchor, G Sterling. I believe this is an early mark after 1892.

This is a must own for those who collect Tiffany and Quezal Salts. If you are looking for a salt to add to your collection that is truly MINT in a very hard to find color, look no Further. This piece was made circa 1900-1915.
