Rookwood

$295.00

For sale is a wonderful arts & crafts design vase made by The Rookwood Pottery Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. This vase is a nice cabinet size as it measures 6 3/16" tall and is 2 13/16" in diameter at the shoulder. The top opening is 1 11/16" in diameter inside measurements.

The vase has a round foot and has a tapered arts and crafts shape. The foot is formed into the main part of the vase. It displays a wonderful arts and crafts Indian influenced design that resembles a boomerang . These are nestled inside of an incised window panel at the lower neck of the vessel. There are 5 of these patterns surrounding the neck. The vase displays a robins egg blue glaze at the top and bleeds down into a light turquoise. It is quite a pleasing color blend and the mold is crisp.

This vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There are two very minor glaze pin pops at the rim however they do not distract from the beauty of the piece. The piece is signed with Rookwood's impressed reverse "RP" and sunburst logo along with the roman numerals "XXVII" for the year of manufacture, 1927. There is also the mold number "2112" impressed under the date.

This would make an outstanding addition to any art pottery collection and would look just great on that Stickley, mission, arts and crafts style bookcase. Those of you whom collect Rookwood Pottery don't let this one slip by!!
