Roseville

Sold

For sale is a lovely piece of art pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is "Apple Blossom" and the shape is a tall vase. It is done in the most popular blue background glaze. The vase has some size as it stands 9 1/4" tall and is 5 3/4" in diameter outside handles measurements.

The vase depicts twigs of apple blossom flowers in full bloom and there are 2 realistic twig style handles to complete the look. The background on this very lovely vase is robins egg blue predominately and a deeper blue at the bottom. The blossoms are a creamy white highlighted with blue and soft green yellow leaves. The pattern is repeated on both sides of the vase with both sides showing unopened buds in the bottom clusters.

The piece is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. You can see some crazing when held to the light. This is common with this pattern and its blue glazes. This piece is signed with the raised relief Roseville U.S.A. mark along with its mold mark 387-9". The glaze colors are bright and vivid as is the crispness of the mold.

I'm quite sure the buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. This vase was made circa 1948.
