Heintz, Silver Overlay, Cattails, Bronze Candlestick, Nice~~~ | To continue browsing this category from where you left off, please use your back buttonPlease scroll to see additional photos Sold For sale is a wonderful candlestick made by The Art Metal Shop of Buffalo, NY founded by Otto Heintz. The candlestick measures 5 3/8" tall and 3 5/16" diameter at the base. The outer rim of the bobeche measures 2 1/4".The candlestick is a cylindrical form adorned with a cattail and reed decoration. The decoration is applied and finished with sterling silver over a wonderful green brown patina background. The patina is a red, green, brown patina that is similar to Tiffany Studios that is in very good condition. There is only a small area that doesn't show quite as much green on the front side of the foot, most likely from light cleaning over the years. The bobeche has the aperture indent of 3/4" deep, the standard candle width size. The candlestick is in excellent condition as there are no dents, dings or major scratches in the patina or metal. There is nice weight to the candlestick due to it being made from bronze that also prevented the piece from being knocked over frequently. There are no dents to the bobeche as well. The only signature mark I could find is the impressed "STERLING" mark at the bottom corner of the cattail applied decoration. This is how pieces were signed prior to June 7, 1911. Heintz patented the silver overlay process in 1912 although it was introduced in 1906. This piece can \be dated based on this sterling mark as it was made circa 1906-1911. SHIPPING $22
