For sale is nice set of blotter ends made by Tiffany Studios, New York. These blotter ends are part of a desk set pattern called "Grapevine". This was one of the first desk set patterns created by Louis C Tiffany. The blotter ends each measure 19 1/8" wide by 2 1/16" deep and 5/16" tall.The blotter ends display a wonderful acid etched pattern of grapes and leaves centered throughout each blotter end. They sit inside a border of small acid etched triangles. The patina is a deep green with a reddish tone background. The etched portion of the Grapevine shows more green than red. The underside shows this wonderful green patina as you can see. This is a nice set of blotter ends for your desk blotter.
The blotter ends are considered to be in very good to excellent condition. The patina shows minor signs of use and wear. There are no dents or dings to the metal. The blotter ends are signed with the impressed Tiffany Studios New York Mark along with the model number 999. Guaranteed to be original LCT Tiffany Studios New York.
Those of you who are collecting the Grapevine desk set pattern would welcome this fine addition. Tiffany started numbering his desk set pieces usually with a 3 digit number after 1902. Since these have a 3 digit number these blotter ends were made circa 1902-1920.
