$1,295.00

For sale is a wonderful art glass lighting shade made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The shade is the very desirable Tulip shape and it is done in the highly sought after Gold Favrile style of art glass. The shade measures 4 7/8" tall and has a diameter of 3 13/16" at the bulge in the shade. The bottom or flower end has a diameter of 3 1/4".

The shade displays a brilliant gold iridescent that rivaled Steuben's gold Aurene style of glass at the time. The shade is brilliant in color as you can see wonderful vivid hues of fuchsia and platinum blues. This shade will look outstanding in any of the Tiffany 2 light wall sconces or multi light table lamps that require this shape and size. These can also be used in a single light wall sconce or pendant hanger as well.

The shade is considered to be in very good to excellent condition. The only issue is a shallow fitter screw nibble on the side profile of the fitter neck. This is pictured and considered insignificant as you cannot see this when mounted into a shade holder or fitter. The top of the fitter is polished smooth and flat. The shade is signed with the etched "L.C.T." for Louis Comfort Tiffany and the word "Favrile" which means "Hand Wrought". This signature mark in done in a counter clockwise fashion. Original Tiffany Favrile shades are becoming very hard to find these days as we are now more than 110 years past the time frame when these were made. These Tulip style of a lighting shade do not come up all that often for sale. This shade was made circa 1900-1915.
