Tiffany Gold Favrile Bud Vase, Jack in the Pulpit Body, Original Tiffany Favrile

For sale is a nice piece of art glass made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The item is a "Bud Vase". It is done in Tiffany's highly sought after gold Favrile iridescent style of art glass. This vase has some size to it as it stands 8 1/4" tall and 4 7/8" in diameter at the bulbous bottom. The top opening has a diameter of 7/8" outside measurements and a inside diameter of 5/8".

The vase depicts a a bulbous bottom with a tall cylindrical neck rising up from the body. The vase has a brilliant gold iridescent finish throughout. The iridescence is outstanding. You can see beautiful hues of fuchsia and platinum blue iridescence.

This vase is considered to be in very good condition as there are no cracks, chips or dings. I want to point out that this vase was originally a Jack in the Pulpit vase that got damaged. Someone removed the face of the jack and converted this to a bud vase with a polished top lip similar to Steuben's stick bud vases. It is a shame because this vase had it not broken its face was worth $7000-$9000. Here is your chance to own it for a fraction of that. The original height was around 10-11" tall.

The vase is properly signed with the counter clockwise etched script signature mark that reads"L.C.T. 2197 B". There is added glass in the area of the pontil to give it added weight. This was typical of original Tiffany Jack in the Pulpit vases to have this. I can date this vase based on the signature mark. It was made circa 1907.

A nice piece of original Tiffany Gold Favrile that can be acquired for a fraction of what it was originally worth. It display very well. I have attached a picture of what it would have looked like with its face.
