Roseville Pottery, Early Carnelian, Oval Window Box, Nice Early Glaze | To continue browsing this category from where you left off, please use your back buttonPlease scroll to see additional photos Sold For sale is a very nice piece of art pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The shape is a window box planter and the pattern is the very collectible "Early Carnelian". The window box measures 9" wide, 5" deep, and is 2 1/4" tall. The window box has an oval shape with slightly rolled in top edge. This wonderful planter is all about the glaze. It is a soft matte frothy matte green glaze with reddish brown undertones. This glaze resembles Roseville's antique matt green but the clue that gives it away is the reddish brown bottom. Roseville achieved this by taking a fired piece in bisque, then dipping it in the red/ brown. They then allowed this to dry before the final green was applied. This explains the undertones and the bottom color. This window box is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The piece is unsigned but it has that signature bottom that is synonymous with the Roseville Early Carnelian Line. This would be a lovely addition to any Arts and Crafts or Mission style decor. This window box planter or oval bowl was made circa 1916. SHIPPING $28
