Brush

$275.00

For sale is a very nice piece of art pottery made by The Brush McCoy Company of Roseville, Ohio. The shape is a tall vase. The pattern is one of Brush McCoy's most sought after patterns called, "Amaryllis". The vase is rather large as it measures 7 3/4" tall and is 5 5/8"" in diameter. The opening of the vase is 3 3/4" wide, inside measurement.

The vase displays an embossed long stemmed Amaryllis in full bloom bordering the top rim. They are growing out and in between long vertical wide leaves for a nice art deco flair. There is some extra attention drawn to the leaves as you can see the veining in them. You can also see the pistils and stamens in the center of the Amaryllis flowers. The vase is glazed in a matte mauve salmon colored glaze with the recessed areas being done in a soft matte sage green. The inside of the vase is a beige color.

The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There are a couple of tooling marks on the bottom. This was done during the making of this beautiful vase. It is not signed but there is no mistake as to who made this piece. This pattern is a well documented Brush McCoy pattern.

The vase was made circa 1918-1925.
