Tiffany

$1,895.00

For sale is a lovely blue iridescent vase made by Tiffany Studios, New York, NY. The vase is a nice cabinet size as it 4 1/8" tall and is 4 1/2" in diameter at the shoulder. The foot has a diameter of 2 1/8". The top of the vase has a very small diameter at 1 1/2" outside measurement.

The vase displays a classic squat Grecian urn shape with a round foot. It is further decorated with 2 ribbed blue handles that are applied to the shoulder of the vessel at opposite sides. These handles are in the shape of a scroll and are very delicate in appearance and touch. The neck of the vase rises up from the shoulder and flares out slightly. The Blue Favrile iridescence is about as good as it gets. The vase displays a brilliant blue iridescence with strong purple and fuchsia hues on the top of the vessel and is outstanding.

The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The scroll handles show virtually no wear at all. The vase is signed on the bottom with an etched signature that reads "L.C. Tiffany-Favrile" and the numbers "1063- 5434-L" just to the right. We can date this vase based on the suffix letter "L". The suffix letter "L" dates this vase to have been made circa 1917. It is shape number 1063 and it was the 5434th art glass vessel made that year.

Those of you who collect Tiffany Blue Favrile vases and want an excellent and hard to find example in excellent condition, look no further. This vase would be a wonderful addition to your collection.
