Fenton,

$65.00

For sale is a beautiful piece of carnival glass made by the Fenton Glass Company of Williamstown, West Virginia. The pattern is known as "Two Flowers" and the shape is a ruffled bowl. The bowl is rather large as it measures 4 1/4" tall and is 10 15/16" in diameter.

The bowl depicts a chrysanthemum in the center of the bowl that is encircled by a wreath of different flowers that appear to be poppies and leaves. They are quite detailed with veining to all of the blossoms and leaves. There is a band of scales framed by a rope border that waves around the floral pattern along the outer edge. The exterior of the bowl is plain flutes. The iridescence is just wonderful as you can see vivid tones of fuchsia, gold, blue an green. The mold is sharp and crisp. The bowl has saw tooth edge treatment and rests on 3 ball feet that resembles an eagle's claw foot grasping the bowl.

The bowl is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There is some roughness to the bottom of one of the feet and I suspect it happened when pulled from the mold. The piece is unsigned but guaranteed to be vintage Fenton. This piece was made circa 1910-1920.
