Dugan

$65.00

For sale is a lovely piece of carnival glass made by the Dugan Glass Company of Indiana, Pa. The shape is a tri-corner or spade shaped nappy and the pattern is known as "Leaf Rays". The nappy measures approximately 6 1/2" inches long from the tip of the vessel to the outer handle measurement. It measures 2 1/4" tall and is approximately 5 1/2" wide.

The nappy depicts a 10 petal flower in the center with 10 serrated edged leaves also coming from the center. The flower petals are plain with they typical vein up the center similar to the Stitch-wort blossom. The leaves are textured with an all over beaded effect to show the roughness of the leaf and similar to the Globe Flower. The iridescence is superb as you can see vivid hues of blue, teal, fuchsia on a strong gold background. The exterior of the nappy has a 15 petal flower on the bottom of the foot with 11 leaves surrounding the foot. There is no iridescence on the bottom.

The piece is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no nicks, chips or dings. This piece was made circa 1909-1914.
