$31.00

For sale is a lovely teacup and saucer made by Elite Works also known as Bawo and Dotter of Limoges, France. The cup measures 1 15/16" tall and 3 1/2" wide at the rim of the cup. The base measures 1 7/8" wide. The saucer is approximately 11/16" tall and is 5 1/2" in diameter.

The pattern depicts a floral pattern sprays and trailing vines with daisies, roses and other cottage garden blossoms. There is also a geometric hollow beaded pattern style border decorating the rim of the cup and saucer. There are shields of a crisscross pattern inset underneath the beaded border that separate floral boughs and leaves. This pattern is reminiscent of vintage wallpaper. The cup has been finished with a gold trimmed handle. The saucer is decorated in a complimentary fashion.

The teacup and saucer are in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The pieces are signed "Limoges, France" in green signifying this is where this piece was made and it was known as white ware. It is further marked with the stamped "Elite Works, Limoges, France" which is over the glaze and where the set was decorated. The teacup and saucer were made circa 1900-1920.
