$295.00

For sale is a lovely art glass salt made by Daniel Lotton Art Glass of Crete, Illinois. The salt is a nice cabinet size as it stands 1 11/16" tall and is 2 1/4" in diameter at its widest point.

The salt has a deep well, high shoulder and rolled over top. The base glass is Gold Ruby and the pattern is "Leaf and Vine". The leaf and vine pattern displays a very beautiful bluish green iridescent that the Lotton's are well known for. These salts were specifically made for the 5th Convention of the Open Salt Club. This convention was held in Plymouth, Massachusetts September 4-7th in 1997. There were a total of 223 of these salts made.

This salt is considered to be in very good to excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips, or dings. The piece is not perfectly symmetrical and displays that hand blown form similar to the way Tiffany Studios blew their vases. There is also a tiny pin pop in one of the leaves. The salt is signed along the bottom side with an etched signature that reads "David Lotton 1997. There are also "5th" etched along with the letters "NOSC" and the 3 digit number "197". These markings can date the piece to have been made for the 5th National Open Salt Convention NOSC and it was the 197th of the 223 that were made.

This salt was made in 1997 as it has an etched date.
