Weller

$395.00

For sale is a beautiful large florist vase made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is called "Blue Baldin" and the vase so gorgeous!. This vase is very large as it stands 9 7/8” and 5 5/8” in diameter at the bottom flair. The opening has a diameter of 5 3/8" outside measurement and the hole to receive flowers is 3 5/8".

This large vase has a beautiful deep matte country blue background glaze with wonderful blending of green and brown earth tone colors. The vase displays several very realistic looking apples hanging from a branch. The branch is done in raised relief and simulates a functional branch that looks very realistic. The apples are hanging from branches and leaves and are ripe, plump and ready for picking. The leaves have very nice coloring in them as well and the apples appear to be Macintosh apples as they have areas of red and green. This pattern is surround only the upper portion of the vase towards the top lip.

The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There is a couple of glaze misses and pin pops. This is very common with this pattern. The piece is signed on the bottom with impressed block letter "Weller" mark as well as the number "8". This large Weller Blue Baldin vase in very good used condition. There is crazing on the inside of the vase from use. This cannot be seen at all unless you look inside. The detail is sharp and crisp. I'm quite sure the buyer will not be disappointed with their purchase. This vase will work in any mission, arts and crafts or country decor. In fact, I think it will work with most decors including primitives.

This vase was produced during Weller's early middle period, circa 1915-1920.
