For sale is a lovely piece of art pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is called "Spanish Moss" or just "Moss" and the mold shape is a rose bowl vase or jardinière. This vase has some size to it as it stands 6 1/8" tall and 8 1/2" in diameter outside handles measurements.

This vase has an orb shape. The pattern depicts embossed Spanish Moss hanging in clusters of vertical lines dangling from branches with green leaves. The background color is a salmon pink glaze. The interior is more like a salmon pink to mostly beige interior. This vase is accented with two triangular buttressed shaped open handles in the middle on each side with strapping. The colors are strong and the detail is wonderful.

This vase is considered to be in very good condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The piece appears to have been professionally restored along the exterior bottom foot. The vase is signed with "Roseville" impressed into the bottom along with the mold numbers "290-6". There is also a letter M and number 7 written in glaze. This is more than likely the finishers marks. As an added bonus there is most of Roseville's gold and black foil triangular shaped label just above one of the handles.

This is a wonderful vase in good condition and a crisp mold strike. I'm quite sure the buyer of this will be very pleased with their purchase. This vase was made circa 1936-1940 just before World War II.
