For Sale is a wonderful piece of Art Pottery made by The Fulper Pottery Company of Flemington, NJ. The item is swollen shoulder form vase. The vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 5 7/8" tall and is approximately 3 5/8" in diameter at the swollen shoulder.
The Vase has a classic swollen shape that tapers every so slightly towards the bottom from the shoulder area. The Vase displays a rich deep Matte two toned green glaze with some brown undertones in the glaze in the mid to upper sections of the vessel. When looking at the Vase you can see an almost oatmeal texture within the deep rich matte cucumber green glaze. The inside of the vase has a dark brown waterproofing Glaze. Truly a lovely vase and a joy to offer this piece to that avid Fulper collector. This Vase has good weight for its size. The exterior top lip shows a hint of their Flambé Glaze surrounding it. The Glaze color is absolutely beautiful.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The Vase is marked on the underside bottom with Fulper's racetrack ink stamp signature mark. This would date this Vase to be made Circa 1922-1928. It is known as shape number 839 in the Fulper Catalog Pages according to the book on Fulper by Hibel-Defalco-Rago.
This is a wonderful example of this Form and Glaze from Fulper. I'm sure the Buyer will be quite pleased with their purchase. This would look outstanding on that Stickley, Mission, Arts and Crafts style Bookcase.
