Northwood

Sold

For sale is a beautiful piece of carnival glass made by The Northwood Glass Company of Wheeling, West Virginia. The pattern is known as "Good Luck" and the shape is a bowl that has a saw tooth edge. The bowl measures 2 5/8" tall and is 8 3/4" wide at its widest point. It has a collar base that has a diameter of 3 1/2".

The pattern depicts a horseshoe in the center of the bowl with a riding crop going through the middle of it. The words "GOOD LUCK" are above the horseshoe in the center of the bowl. There is a wreath of wild flowers, wheat spray and berries encircling the center decoration. Finally it is finished with a saw tooth edge treatment. The base glass of this beauty is called green The iridescence on this is wonderful as you can see vivid hues of blues, fuchsia, purples and golds. The backside of the bowl has a basket weave pattern with nice iridescence as well.

The piece of carnival glass is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There are very few scratches and the iridescence shows minor wear. The piece is not signed but is a well documented pattern. Here is your chance to own a nice piece of carnival glass that has a great pattern. This bowl was made circa 1911-1917.
