For sale is a beautiful leaded glass or Tiffany Studios inspired table lamp. The shade was made by an artist in California named George Buzzetti and the bronze 3 light base by an upstate NY Studio known as Northeastern Lamps and Bronzes of Amsterdam, NY. This table lamp has some size to it as it stands 23 1/4" tall and the shade has a diameter of 20 1/4" The bottom of the bronze base has a diameter of 8 1/4".
The lamp displays a beautiful Green Dragonfly Cone on a bronze 3 light base. The shade was truly inspired by Tiffany as it has 7 Dragonflies that surround the base. This is the same pattern that Tiffany Studios used to make theirs. It has Jewels and Filigree just like the original. Even the glass is of high quality and resembles Tiffany Favrile shade glass. The background is a 2 tone green with the dragonflies wings done in a mottled red amber. The bodies of the flies are done in a blood red opalescent glass. The bottom border has a yellow band. To finish this shade it has wonderful oval shaped raised jewels in green and even the Dragonflies eyes are done in green. The top of the shade has a ring soldered into the neck and the shade sits on a bronze cap and wheel just like the Tiffany originals. The cap and wheel are done in a Verdi green patina.
The base is very heavy and made of solid bronze. The pattern on the base is that of an "Artichoke". It has a very deep bronze patina with 3 pull chain sockets and round heavy balls. This base has a cluster similar to those that Handel Lamp of Meriden, CT used. Northeastern Lamps and bronzes were known for their versions of Handel and Unique leaded glass table lamps.
This lamp is in exceptional condition for its age. The shade has no cracks and the base is in equally as good condition. The only issue is a small amount a green patina along the bottom edge of the base. This is more than likely oxidation of left chemicals from the bronze patina work. The lamp was made circa 1988-1990. The shade weighs 8 1/2 pounds and the whole lamp together weighs 16 1/2 pounds. The reason why I know so much about this lamp is because I sold it at the Brimfield Antique Show in Massachusetts back then and just found it at an estate sale in Vermont a few weeks back.
Purchase with confidence as this is 100% American made and of the period I stated above. Take good care of this lamp and it will be an investment that will give a return down the road.
