For sale is a lovely blue iridescent vase made by Tiffany Studios, New York, NY. The vase is a called a cabinet miniature size as it stands only 2 9/16" tall and is 3 1/2" in diameter at its widest point. The bottom has a diameter of 2". The top of the vase has a small diameter at 1 5/8" outside measurement and 1 3/8" inside diameter.

The vase has a beautiful Tiffany Peacock Blue Favrile iridescent finish. It displays a squat organic with lobes surround the mid section of the vase. It almost looks like the glass blower went around the vase pinching this vase and forming the lobes. The iridescence is just wonderful as you can see. The top portion around the neck has that deep peacock surface textured that bleeds gold and fuchsia hues over the blue and onto the lobes. When you turn the vase upside down you expose that deep rich Peacock Blue that Tiffany Favrile was famous for.

The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. It has a counter sunk polished pontil. This is the finishing sign of a quality piece of art glass. The vase is signed on the bottom with an etched signature that reads "o6263". This number is good as a signature as Tiffany marked his wares in this manner in the very beginning blowing years before the fire that destroyed his glass foundry. This vase can be dated based on this mark as it was made circa 1892-1894.

It is referenced that Louis C Tiffany had his blown glass items marked in this fashion during this time period above and when the reach 10,000 they stopped blowing for that year. I don't know if that is true but I have never seen marks on the bottom done in this fashion that exceed 9999 and usually with a small "o" in front of it in my 47+ years as a collector and dealer.
